About Us
The category needs a platform built for the mid-market. We are building it.
The Mission
The problem we exist to solve.
“Every modern business now runs on software talking to other software. When an employee opens an app, books a flight, or runs a report, that single human action triggers dozens of background systems authenticating with each other. Each of those authentications uses a machine credential — an API key, a service account, an OAuth token, an NHI identity — that has no human face attached to it.”
“These credentials now outnumber human users by roughly 144 to 1 in cloud-native companies. They are the invisible workforce. They are also the most under-secured surface in modern enterprises. The security tools we use were built for human users, not for the machines.”
“The biggest names in identity security cannot serve the mid-market profitably. Their platforms are priced and engineered for the Fortune 500. The 85,000 US companies between 50 and 500 – 1000 employees — fintechs, healthcare technology providers, defense subcontractors, SaaS companies — are left choosing between solutions they cannot afford and solutions that do not work. ACRIVAULT is the platform built for that gap.”
THE NUMBERS THAT MATTER.
The ratio of machine identities to human users in cloud-native companies — and the ratio is accelerating as NHI multiply.
Founder & CEO
Dr. M.E Basang
Founder & CEO
Founder & Chief Executive Officer, AcriVault Inc.
Dr M.E Basang is a cloud security engineer, entrepreneur, and former public servant whose path to founding AcriVault has been shaped on three continents and across three careers. Before relocating to the United States to deepen his technical expertise, he served as Mayor of Nkum Council in Cameroon — leading municipal governance, public policy, and community development at the highest local level. He is also the founder and proprietor of Impact Polytechnic University, a private institution in Cameroon dedicated to building the next generation of African technical and professional talent. That combination ,building institutions, governing communities, and ultimately mastering enterprise cybersecurity ,is the foundation he now brings to AcriVault.
His technical career spans over seven years securing enterprise cloud environments for Fortune 500 financial institutions and healthcare organizations across AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform. He holds a postgraduate qualification in Cloud Computing , a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology Management, and a Bachelor of Science in Public Service and Administration , a PhD in Human Resource Management and honorary Doctorate in Leadership. He holds many AWS,Microsoft/Azure Security certifications with specialized training in the NIST Cybersecurity Framework, HIPAA/HITRUST compliance, and Zero-Trust Architecture. His professional specialty is identity and access management, the discipline of governing who, and what, is allowed to touch sensitive systems. He has architected Zero Trust frameworks for environments supporting more than 10,000 identities, deployed enterprise-grade privileged access management and identity governance platforms, and built compliance programs satisfying HIPAA, HITRUST, SOX, GDPR, and NIST 800-53.
Across every engagement, he watched the same problem repeat itself, service accounts, API keys, and machine credentials that no human owned, no system rotated, and no tool was built to govern. The enterprise tools he deployed cost hundreds of thousands of dollars a year and required months to install, leaving the mid-market (the 85,000 U.S) companies that need this protection most completely exposed. The 2024 breaches in the U.S and the entire world the problem is real, it is growing, and nobody is solving it for the companies caught in the middle. That diagnosis is why he founded AcriVault, a company being built to do for non-human identities what the giants did for human admins, but at a price the mid-market can afford and in a deployment timeline measured in minutes rather than months. AcriVault exists for one reason: to secure every identity that has no face.
